Aseco TMU 1.2.0: official stable release

Post by Flo » 26 Jun 2007 15:13

Aseco is a Php tool which is running beside your dedicated server. It takes care of all the events management, window handling and of the whole server interaction. In fact it's the core of a system that additionally entertains players on your server with for instance chatbots or record storing. Aseco itself contains a local database plugin which stores the first 5 records to each track. There are also some chat commands integrated that let you administrate your server. Aseco is easy to upgrade. Because of its plugin system you'll just be able to add new commands and stuff by copying new files to the plugins folder and enable them (one of these plugins is RASP, which you'll find on the Aseco Sourceforge page, it adds lots of new commands and player interaction).

With version 1.2.0 the public database plugin came back, create account or view statistics at the new website:
http://www.flo-schnell.de/aseco/

Go to the project's sourceforge page to download Aseco 1.2 or the RASP plugin for TMU:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=185142

Latest changes:
 public database plugin added!
 some stunts mode issues were fixed.
 records management was improved.
 some bugs were fixed.

A list of the recent changes:
 memory management improved (once again).
 new TmxLinker plugin which converts tracknames from the aseco chat messages to Tmx links.
 Version 1.1 fixes some memory leaks that made former versions crash after about 1 day >> should be much more stable now.
 Plugins are object oriented now.
 Admin commands are managed by aseco.php now.
 Several callbacks can be set on the same Chat Command.
 The Aseco base code is completely independent from the plugins code now.
 All plugins are rewritten and fixed.
 Applied some bug fixes and performance updates (colorstrip, formattime...) by AssemblerManiac.
 New Events: onStatusChangedToX, onMainLoop, onServerCrash
 Data is being saved on server crash now, so no player statistics get lost.
 Speed upgrade, reaction time has been decreased from 1sec to 20 milli seconds. (CPU should stay at 0%)

An uptodate server running both, Aseco and RASP can be found here:

Attention: At first startup publicdb/localdb plugin is not activated, you need to remove the <!-- --> from the specified line in the plugins.xml.

Great! Will give it a try ASAP!

And congratulations on finishing school (I got a life sentence^^)!

EDIT: It connects just fine to my old database (old as in ASECO 1.0.2b JFREU 79.9%) but doesn't show any records.
Did you change the structure/names of the tables?

EDIT2: With a new database it works just great (so I guess I did something wrong with the old one  )!

EDIT3: I need a new brain - amazingly removing the "<!-- ... -->"-bracket from "plugin.localdb.php" did the trick... (sorry for wasting your time)

I will soon offer a plugin which makes that possible again ;-)
Not sure how it will work yet.
Either I set up an own public database again or I store future public records at dedimania.

Small problem in localdb

Post by prince10bee » 06 Jul 2007 01:06

Open localdb. scroll down to...

<honors>
<wins>10</wins>
<message>{#highlite}{1} {#server} won for the {#highlite}5{#server}th time, good game!</message>
</honors>

It's set to 10 wins but the message is set to 5. Edit it to say 10.

Well, it's been made pretty clear that Aseco won't be having another TMN release (unless there is some catastrophic bug that hasn't been uncovered yet). After all, ASECO is a simple control system, and .61b already has all necessary features... Aseco TMU is built specifically for TMU, to take advantage of the new manialink infrastructure -- other than that there isn't much different.

If you are referring to other new features, I'm sure you should be talking about RASP, which is an aseco 'addition' that adds all those extra features most of us use. Though, RASP 2.0 (the new TMU-only version) doesn't offer all that much that's new -- almost every new feature is a tweaked rewrite of plugins posted in this forum for TMN.

In the end, you want a new version, but can't tell why you want it. Basically, Aseco .61b and 1.0 accomplish the same exact things, but 1.0 is re-written for manialink which isn't included in TMN.

New Aseco version's out!
Version 1.1.0 should fix some memory leaks ( :1 ) that leaded to crashes in former versions and made Aseco almost unusable ...
Have fun and leave some comments/suggestions/whatevers!

I have made a update from 1.0.5 to 1.1 and know aseco crash after the first Track. Also aseco 1.1 can´t create the log folder.
