Linux-Version!!!

The WIKI: http://www.wiki.tmu-xrated.de
The Linux-ISO: http://www.tmsiab.tmu-xrated.de
Windowsversion: TrackManiaServer in a Box v3.1.1

TrackManiaServer in a Box v2.0.3 ( TMSiaB v2.0.3 ) is bootable Linux-CD ( 140 MB, based on PuppyLinux ) that includes all to start, configure and administer a Dedicated Server.

If you've read anything at all about Dedicated Gameserver in Trackmania, you'll probably know at least two things:

Dedicated Server are the most exciting way to play the game,
Dedicated Server can be really, I mean really, complicated to configure.

Until now... :lol:

TMSiaB v2.0.3 is set to change the bad habit ... TMSiaB is different from the normal!. For a start, it's not complicated. TMSiaB has been developed for the masses. It´s easy to start, install, administer and reliable.
TMSiaB doesn't even require any knowledge about Linux, coding, data access rights, PHP, MySQL or all the other funny stuff needed to establish a Dedicated Server. Equipped with a Idiotproof Userinterface ( you can´t do anything wrong ) and once it's up and running you will get what you deserve: Nothing but FUN ^^

TM Server in a Box v2.0.3 features:
* Bootable Linux-CD based on PuppyLinux with XFCE 4.6.1
* Brandnew Idiotproof Userinterface
* Dedicated Server for Trackmania United Forever (2009-08-01)
* Dedicated Server for Trackmania Nations Forever (2009-08-01)
* RemoteCP4.0.3.2 ( hal.sascha )
* Mistral Aseco 8.1 ( Mistral )
* [LIVE] ( hal.sascha )
* [LIVE] Adminpanel v 1.0 ( ..whistler.. )
* Fast 3.2.2c ( Slig )
* NEW: XAseco 1.10 ( Xymph )
* NEW: Fufi Widgets v0.80b, Fufi Menu v0.32 for XAseco ( Fufi )
* NEW: Pluginmanager ( start another Plugin on running Dedicated Server )
* NEW: Updatecheck

* Dedicated Server for Trackmania Nations (2006-05-30)
* Dedicated Server for Trackmania Sunrise (2006-05-30)
* Dedicated Server for Trackmania Original (2006-05-30)
* RemoteCP3.3.3 ( for TMO, TMN, TMS )
* Install to HDD, USB-Stick, CF-Card or to a CD-RW or any other writeable Media
* Apache Webserver ( XAMPP 1.7 )
* MySQL 5.1.35
* PHP 5.2.9

Extensive Administration:
* Complete control via RemoteCP3/4!
* In-Game-Control via XAseco, MistralAseco, Fast3 or [LIVE]
* ISO is not bigger than 140 MByte now

Which means:

A little Video to explain, what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swNCq80r ... re=related

Which means:
Configuration will be carried out via a nearly Idiotproof Userinterface( "normally", you can´t do something false )
Insert the Live-CD in a PC ( 0.4 to 1 GHz, 256 MB RAM -384 MB without a "swappartition") and a CD-ROM-Drive or run it under VirtualBox ), start it, configure the IP ( klick on the "Network-Icon at the toolbar ), klick at the "TMSIAB-Icon" in the, fill in the desired data for the server, klick "OK" and the Server will start.
Everyone connected to TM will be able to join the server and drive together.
Each Dedicated Server can be started both in Internetmode and in LAN-Partymode.

If you are carrying out instructions, you will have a smooth running Dedicated Server in about 2 minutes after switching on your PC.

Insert CD - boot it - Play! *G*

Shortly after your Dedicated Server is online, you´ll be able to login at remoteCP with your TM-Loginname and password "admin" ( a link is placed in Opera and at the bottom Iconbar ). Having done this you´ll be able to add Tracks, setting up "Matchsettings", restart rounds and all the rest of it.

If you have any questions concerning "Dedicated Server", "remoteCP", "[LIVE]", "ASECO": Please place them in the right threads! - I´m not the coder of this software! ^^

This is, what to expect:

Klick on the TM-Icon at the lower Iconbar and the NIP will start:
Image

Choose your type of Server and LAN or Internetgame:
Image

On the next Tab, you can choose your favorite Plugin:
Image

Fill in your ServerLogin and PW ( if you don´t have one, klick on the lower buttons to create one )
Image

Choose a Servername for the Serverlist and a SuperAdminPW and your Ingameplayername ( to be InGameAdmin )
Image

Choose the Ports from a Dropdownlist:
Image

If you would like to enable "Spectatormode" -> You can *G*
Image

Simply klick "OK" at the end and the server will start:

I wish to say "thank you" to:

Florent - For the authorization to use the dedicated server software and the great game!! ^^
hal|sascha - for the authorization to use his "remoteCP" and "[LIVE]"
JFreu - for the authorization to use his ASECO-Plugin ( keep going the good work! )
Slig - for the authoriziation to use his FAST
Xymph - for the authoriziation to use his XAseco

last not least:

To my clan XRated for the great support creating "TMU Server in a Box"

Download the image at http://tmsiab.tmu-xrated.de ( approx. 140 MB - just burn it ^^ )

If you´re not able to run TMSiaB on a Stand-Alone-PC:
It is possible to run it in a Virtual Machine called "VirtualBox" on the same PC your TMU/TMO/TMN/TMS is running.

The Guideline to install TMSiaB in VirtualBox: Install in VirtualBox/Windows

Pls feel free to give some feedback :D

If you want to donate some coppers: My tmu-loginname is "heatseaker"

V1.1 will have embedded following features:

- Dedicated ASECO for LAN-Partys
- A script for FULL-Automated start of TMUSiaB after a "HDD Installation" !

TMN? Hmmm... never thought about that... Maybe a feature for V 1.2 :D

>> EDIT

If you would like to install the whole thing:

This is a complete Linuxdistrobution!

TMUSiaB can be installed besides a existing Windows or as a Standalone-Operatingsystem ( 6 GB HDD-space is more than enough ).

PW for user tmu is "tmu"
PW for user root is "root"
PW for XAMPP: user "lampp" pw: "tmuinabox"
PW for MySQL: user "root" pw: "tmuinabox"

maybe you should change the pw´s after a HDD-Installation ( be carful with the MySQL-PW: ASECO need the right PW in /opt/tmu/Aseco1.0.2bjfreu89.1/localdb.xml ) :D

Info: I´m not taking any responsibility for damaged or erased Windowsinstallations / Hardwarefailures ^^

Cool to see this. I am looking to see if some users tries it.. and come back to make feed backs.

also

Nadeo grants the authorization to distribute this CD image and CDs. Merlin asked for it and while I have no specific license to give, this post is the best I can do for now. If I should forbid it in the future, I will warn people before.

thanks Merlin

Would it work if you used it with VirtualBox (freeware), in a virtual machine ?
Just create a new VM, link to ISO file to the VM's CD drive, and power on the VM.

Then you don't even have to restart your pc, or have multiple partitions, so no risk to your existing OS.
And you would still be able to do other stuff on your pc at the same time (although not CPU or memory intensive apps probably, like games).
(I have installed Ubuntu 7.10 in VirtualBox, runs nicely in a window or full screen on my XP pc).

Ok... let´s get technical ,

TMUSiab was devolped in Innotek´s VirtualBox under Vista Ultimate :D

It will running smooth and trouble-free depending on your CPU-Power and RAM if you create a Virtual Hostinterface and bridging the Virtual Hostinterface with you Internetconnection.

DON´T forget to redirect the ports to the Virtual Hostinterface - otherwise nobody will be able to connect to your TMUSiaB :)

Quick and working VMWare Solution:

- copy the tmusiab_v1.0_111007.iso to C:\
- download this file and extract to whereever you want
- download VMWare Player

Start the "Linux.vmx" from the zip file.

It will boot from the ISO image (C:\tmusiab_v1.0_111007.iso) automatically. VOILA

You even could install the OS to the harddisc included (10GB). When u rename or move the ISO image the VM will boot from the harddisk, or you press F2 at startup to goto the virtual BIOS and change the boot order.

The virtual machine has 256MB RAM (enough to run the server) and should use very few CPU so you can play or do whatever you want meantime.

For more memory or another location of the ISO image just edit the Linux.vmx with notepad or wordpad.

Hi ^^

TMUSiab has changed it´s name to TMSIAB due to following changes:

Integrating of

# New GUI ( XFCE - smarter, nicer, faster ^^ )
# Dedicated Server for Trackmania United
# Dedicated Server for Trackmania Nations
# Dedicated Server for Trackmania Sunrise
# Dedicated Server for Trackmania Original
# RemoteCP3 ( Version 3.3.1 )

After all, it will be a "swiss knife" for Trackmania Dedicated Server :D

A small teaser showing booting, configuring language and lan, and the brandnew startmenu:

Releasedate of TMSIAB V1.2: 12-16-2007
