Hi all,
I really enjoyed the TM desert demo 1.2.5. gameplay.
The masterserver for that demo shut down some 13 years ago with no further info nor replacement, while it was a small but active community back then.
It was basically a TMO desert environment alpha, with restricted blocks and 5000cr max - like a C64 if you so will.
The community back then has created thousands of maps for that (demo)-game, and i have some of it archived.
I now managed to make run that demo again in a virtualbox winXP on xubuntu and loaded up some of the old minimal tracks - it worked quite good and the tracks were fantastic in their minimalism, like early 80s synth music.
now my question: could nadeo please release that demo without starforce copyprotection in a renewed package maybe as a kind of:
"Minimal Desert early age TM" retro spinoff?
how about releasing TM desert demo 1.2.5 from 2004 as retro sidegame?

Hello!
If you still have some of these early demos, I'm really REALLY interested in getting them! :O
I got the first 2 open beta from late 2003, but I'm currently trying to locate the Speed Up! Alpha(s) (I think ypu're refering to these) and the TMO Open beta.
Please, if you have anything you can share, don't hesitate to contact me.

i think that is not the version we're speaking about here.
the cool version is called: TrackManiaDemoInternet_Setup.exe i think, but it seems to be unavailable.
i have the original setup file still on the virtual winxp.
i would advise to not install this on an actual system, since it contains the stupid starforce protection from 2004, basically an early rootkit to intercept cd drive data.
however, this TrackManiaDemoInternet_Setup.exe runs well in a virtual winxp sandbox (via virtualbox).
