Re: TMSiaB V1.2 - ALL-in-ONE Bootable Dedicated Server on CD
I've had a it error a couple times on file transfer. might be the way I'm setting partitions, thought I saw a help file on this, gonna look again.
Re: TMSiaB V1.2 - ALL-in-ONE Bootable Dedicated Server on CD
Hmmm...
If you´ve a complete HDD, let the program do the work:
just pick "Erase and use entire disk"...
After you´ve had setting up the partitions your HAVE to reboot and reselect the Installfunction!

Re: TMSiaB V1.2 - ALL-in-ONE Bootable Dedicated Server on CD
Got it copying files too HD, and it seems the Grub bootloader is installed (no errors are showing up), but on re-boot the computer is not booting to HD. on trying to use erase and use entire disk it keeps saying re-boot and select use existing partitions. when I do that it ask what too set the mount points as, I've tried different ones but it seems I keep ending with the same problem, PC will not boot from the HD.
Re: TMSiaB V1.2 - ALL-in-ONE Bootable Dedicated Server on CD
You need a minimum of two partitions:
The first partition is where your files will be stored that operate the computer. This partition is called /.
The second partition is one called swap. Swap is a type of virtual memory. It helps out the computer when you run out of RAM. RAM is basically what the computer can work with at one time. If you run out of space then the Swap partition takes over. Usually Swap is set up at about twice the amount of RAM you have. In other words, if you have 256MB of RAM then you would want to set your swap up at 512MB. This is just a rule of thumb and you can modify it to suit.
Set the mount option for the mainpartition to "/".
Set the mount option for swap to NOTHING ( swap does not need any mountpoint! )
To explain:
This section is really asking you, "Where do you want to put all your files?"
Some people have many different partitions on their hard drives, and they like to put /home on one partition, /usr on another, etc., but this isn't necessary. You only really need one partition, and you mount that right at the "root" of all the folders on your system. "/" means "root". That way, anything stored on your PCLinux system will be put into a folder somewhere on that HDD

Updated first posting with the following:
If you´re not able to run TMSiaB on a Stand-Alone-PC:
It is possible to run it in a Virtual Machine called "VirtualBox" on the same PC your TMU/TMO/TMN/TMS is running.
Just follow this easy "24 steps to run TMSiaB in a VirtualBox-HowTo" ( Screenshots are included! ):

Re: TMSiaB V1.2 - ALL-in-ONE Bootable Dedicated Server on CD
Got it installed too a hardrive, and messed with it a bit, but I run two full time Internet servers and have two match servers configured with Aseco for matches only (no bots, records, karma, and using Fishy's Matchsave plugin with set team lists.)
So I'm going to go a different route. even though this idea is great. I like tweaking Aseco & Rasp too much. and really not crazy about Jfreu's version of Aseco for United.

Re: TMSiaB V2.0 - Bootable Dedicated Server on CD (with FOREVER)
Are you really still including the ancient and very obsolete ASECO/RASP v0.89, or did you only forget to update the features list? XAseco v1.09 has been out for three months, and supports TMF since v0.96 in April 2008.Merlin wrote:Updated TMSiaB to 2.0 ( incl. Forverserver and Uptodate Plugins & remoteCP )
If it's still v0.89 in your setup, please upgrade it asap. And which TMF dedicated build is included? Should be 2009-05-25 or 2009-08-01.

Dedicated Server for Forever (2009-08-01) and Classic (2006-05-30) are up to date!
ASECO/RASP v0.89 for TMO, TMN and TMS ( cause, it´s stable )
MistralAseco 8.1 and [LIVE] for TMUF ´n TMNF!
I didn´t catch the line... XAseco supports TMO, TMN and TMS???

Good, but it would be helpful to mention that in the features list.Merlin wrote:Dedicated Server for Forever (2009-08-01) and Classic (2006-05-30) are up to date!
Heck no, it has bugs that were fixed in later versions (just check the entire history of release notes), and is missing tons of features, including TMF support. Please do not keep distributing obsolete software, and put in the latest version.Merlin wrote:ASECO/RASP v0.89 for TMO, TMN and TMS ( cause, it´s stable )
I'm not able to test TMO and TMS, but theoretically they are still supported. Classic TMN has always been supported, and TMF (U/N) is since v0.96.Merlin wrote:I didn´t catch the line... XAseco supports TMO, TMN and TMS???

Re: TMSiaB V2.0 - Bootable Dedicated Server on CD (with FOREVER)
I've never got a a problem with 0.89! As I say - true to the maxim "never touch a running system" I´ve never changed the plugin.
Never tested the new Version with Classic-TM -> Now I know for sure, thanks!
I will deal with this next week....

Just because you didn't get a problem doesn't mean there weren't any bugs in that version.Merlin wrote:I've never got a a problem with 0.89! As I say - true to the maxim "never touch a running system" I´ve never changed the plugin.

You should also consider including Fufi's Widgets and Menu plugins, and maybe AutoQueue.
Ok thanks.Merlin wrote:I will deal with this next week....
