Windows 7 TM Sunrise Help
Hi All,
I'm new to this forum but have bought all of the previous versions of trackmania from the beginning.
I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 but can't seem to get TMS to run, it installs fine etc done all the patches but when you click to play it a box comes up saying about bench etc etc then says click yes to reboot, do that and try again and the same thing comes up.
Have tried the vista patches etc and updating starforce but can't seem to geti t to work.
All of the others work fine including the original trackmania and the nations etc it's just sunrise that won't.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

That's like trying to get TMO to run on Vista...not gonna happen.

Re: Windows 7 TM Sunrise Help
Apparently Nadeo are working with Microsoft and Starforce to sort this out as it happens with all starforce games using a specific version of starforce (including TMSunrise), just a pity nadeo can't just update the game to NOT use this version but it all comes down to licensing again.
This is all from a representative of Nadeo replying to my email a few weeks back.

Stop replying to spam, completely idiotic...
Re: Windows 7 TM Sunrise Help
Have you tried running it in compatible mode?
Why don't they simply release the game for free without the atrocious starforce? It's not like they're gonna lose any sales over it. I have the game somewhere but since I'm running Win7 it won't help me.

Re: Windows 7 TM Sunrise Help
Tried that and still didn't help, I can get it to run in the emulator mode of windows 7 ultimate but that seems kind of pointless.
Pity there isn't a patch or another version available without starforce protection available for people that have paid good money for it.

There is, it's called Forever. And the lack of DRM causes lots of cheating. Nice trade-off huh?spinneruk wrote:Pity there isn't a patch or another version available without starforce protection available for people that have paid good money for it.

Re: Windows 7 TM Sunrise Help
Try the Starforce updater.
It updates the Starforce driver so that it won't have any compatability issues.
I have TMSX on my computer, which is running Vista, and runs with no crashes.

Re: Windows 7 TM Sunrise Help
Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate are compatible with Windows XP mode (acquired by download). If you have one of these versions, download and install the Windows XP mode. Just do not know if it will work ...

Re: Windows 7 TM Sunrise Help
I'm pretty sure it won't (though I didn't try it out yet). Windows XP mode is running in a virtual computer, and virtual computers usually don't support 3D. 3D is needed for running TMS though, which means the game either will show a message saying there's no 3D video card installed, or won't even start.
