I tried this, but couldn't get it to work. I think trackmania doesn't like the .aspx that is included in the external links. Any ideas on how to solve this, or am I doing something wrong.

It just links to some page, not the actual file, therefore it'll never work.

I understand it now, you need to alter the last part of the url in order for it to work. I coulnd't get that url to work either at first, but now I understand.

You don't need to alter the link. Just right click on the "Download" button and copy the target location.
