I find the F,6,4,3 - F,F,4,3 thing really good. But I also wanted to add an option that would give the choice to the player who becomes finalist to choose to finish on the same map or to carry on as cup mode should be. That is to prevent from becomming finalist just before a map change and loosing because a player isn't as good on the other one.

What do ESWC players think about theses modifications to end the 2009 season?

Well like I said, I think it's a good idea for now. But I also think you should rise the point limit a bit.

But let's see hear what the others say.

I already gave my opinion in the first post
1. reduce catch speed
or
2. a new mode

I doubt that it is good to change the rules of the competition during the year by the way. But if people ask for a change here, it should means that it changes something. And if it does, it will change the competition for the current involved players. Again, like the mode, I am only giving an opinion. I decide nothing for ESWC.

The only point I regret that many people did not understood here and that is crucial is the fact that only the first racer should be rewarded by a point. There are some reasons why it went from 2 to 4, and they should lead you to conclude this also. I realize that it is the key to the discussion in fact.

I will open a topic on this, and hope to see some players trying to discuss this logic. It has nothing to do with the mode, it is just a question that needs to be solved. I don't say that I have the truth. At this moment, it is still based on belief and some arguments. But I will not change my mind on bad arguments.

Florent, I would like you to replay to my latest post please. It also takes the "only leader award" into account. If you open a new thread, please link it here.

I made many posts on the question already myself. I agree that you bring a start of a discussion here. But since I raised this point first, I think it is better for you to answer directly than for me to start the discussion by answering you. It is already to far.

This is why I invite you to discuss the logic of it in the other topic.

I created this other topic to avoid mixing it with the "mode discussion" which is a higher topic in the hierarchy.

Yes so why is that not a good reason for it to change during the season? I see no problems. Actually the best would be if they changed it completely than just making these small fixes that just delays the real problems. But I guess it's too much work?

To enter a competition unhappy of the rules is different from becoming unhappy during a competition because of changing rules.

But a big majority of players are ok and want to change this mode cup ... and this is a joke , in mode cup you have no strategy or other thing you have to play without safety and pray !

And you are not a player ... but you speak for us apparently.

I am just talking logic on this. But again, if you don't understand it, it is not really my problem. I am not deciding what games-services need to do. And I don't say that logic should always be respected. Sometimes, good decisions can be made against it. But I will not explain to a player that hoped for the cup mode to stay like this until the end of the season that it was logic to listen to #1 of tm-ranking who opened a topic to ask for more consistency, that could be seen to secure more any potential cash prize distribution. Which would be difficult to defend since he said that it was useful to get pro paid players.

But again, I am just here to present logics and read the ones from people. I am not here to decide for the players like you say. But you know, players rarely decide what is the game, like game designers rarely play the game at the place of champions.

And if you want to know about my feeling. Just think how much I could doubt that you will take the arguments I just gave... or any else I could have made. But happily, feeling is different from logic, and that's why I answered again.
