TrackMania: Nations is also available via FilePlanet (http://www.fileplanet.com) in their Free Games section (that's where I got my copy). Even the *average* PC can run TM: Nations well (P4 2.6C, 1 GB RAM, ATI AIW 9700 Pro, Catalyst 6.2, XP MCE 2005).

Why would you need a torrent?

You don't need a torrent, because the game is FREE (as in costs El Zippo). I got my copy via FilePlanet (Free Games section).

a torrent can also have a free game though :) its just what you put in it :) and for some I could guess that it's more interesting to download it this way.

I used the torrent after release, and it was really fast, while other people were struggling with slow and not-working download links. When a normal download gets more people it slows down, but torrents speed up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought BitTorrent was first and foremost a way to distribute large files to a large number of people quickly, which might be exactly what Nadeo/ESWC would want in this case...

I have to agree; I had to use Torrents to dl TMN.

First try off site was 80k/sec, then it just died and my comp crashed.

second try was 50bytes/sec and I was like WTF.

So I just dled it from BitComet in half an hour. O_o;

it's not the (growing) quality of the game alone - it is the community that elevates it to a GREAT game... :wink:
