Dedicated server for TMF, version 2010-03-15
Hello!
I've been quite busy lately, but I got some time to make a (very) little update to the dedicated server:
Dedicated server for TMF, version 2010-03-15 2.11.26
You can download it from
http://files2.trackmaniaforever.com/Tra ... -03-15.zip
or
http://files2.trackmaniaforever.com/Tra ... -03-15.tgz
Changes:
fixed ForcePlayerTeam()
"disable_coherence_checks" is now "laps" by default.
And here is as well a small update for the game, that fixes a few last glitches before being pushed to everyone, including nations players (if every thing goes as planed):
The only notable change being that:
the binks in manialinks and mediatracker images now work with transparency.
nations: http://files2.trackmaniaforever.com/TmN ... _Setup.exe
united: http://files2.trackmaniaforever.com/TmU ... _Setup.exe
so hopefully, at some point, everyone will be running the exe same version at last...
(oups wrong edit, trying to recover previous message)

Transparancy in biks. This will bring a lot of good to server controllers like TPS I think

Weeeeeeeeeeee
Re: Dedicated server for TMF, version 2010-03-15
Was this update's main goal to fix a problem with wrong displaying of a player position after passing 250 CPs on dedicated servers? Just curious.

this limit is deeply hardcoded (stupid bad code!) in both the client and the server, and changing it is really too risky to do at this point.

sorry about that.

Don't be too sorry -- 250+ CPs on a track is insane anyway.xbx wrote:sorry about that.

And a reasonable limit also helps server controllers and Dedimania operate reasonably efficiently.

It's not about 250+ cp on a track, but 250+ on a full race in Laps mode, which happens most time in FET racesXymph wrote:Don't be too sorry -- 250+ CPs on a track is insane anyway.xbx wrote:sorry about that.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. So maybe it's a good idea to shorten those FET races a bit.Slig wrote:It's not about 250+ cp on a track, but 250+ on a full race in Laps mode, which happens most time in FET racesXymph wrote:Don't be too sorry -- 250+ CPs on a track is insane anyway.

Re: Dedicated server for TMF, version 2010-03-15
it's only the yellow cp times which show stupid things, all other is workingXymph wrote:Ah, thanks for the clarification. So maybe it's a good idea to shorten those FET races a bit.
(except the BestCheckpoints which is incomplete at the end, but that is not a real problem as the script don't use it in Laps mode)

Well, it happens not that often and doesn't really hurt. =)xbx wrote:unfortunately not..

Re: Dedicated server for TMF, version 2010-03-15
it doesn't work, help?

Re: Dedicated server for TMF, version 2010-03-15
Exactly what doesn't work? What steps did you take and what error did you encounter? We're not clairvoyant here...Wax wrote:it doesn't work, help?

Make sure you read this post and followed the first half of this Quick Start Guide before answering the above.
