New dedicated server version instable?

Post by Scordo » 15 May 2009 12:24

More than half a year the previous server version worked without any problem. Now a few days after running the new version the server crashed for the very first time:

Am I the only one having a crash with the new version?

Haven't had a problem, myself...

Might be a good idea to post some sysinfo logs, try to narrow it down...

for me the newversion dont crash. i changed back to old version with my most visited ladder servers, but all others running well with new version.

just the max player issue, which imo is caused by the autoqueue combined with new version, is the biggest problem

I use XP SP3 and I have the same problem but if I force the dedicated to run with Windows 2000 compatibility it is ok

I'm not running Aseco or XAseco, I'm running my own System: TMSPS

So the problem is not caused by XAseco or Aseco. The server was running fine for half a year until I upgraded to the new version. Now nearly every 3rd day the server crashes.

I'm running the new server on a Vista machine and it's going fine. I have 6 servers running from the same directory, and 1 server on it's own. I'm running FAST 3.2.2c and so far it's all good.

It's not an issue with the OS you are using? MS Licensing says you aren't supposed to be running any othe server app other than IIS on a Web edition server but I don't think the do anything to force it.

Microsoft does not support running other Microsoft-Server-Products on Windows 2008 Web Edition (IIS + SQL Server is supported). All the other Microsoft-Server-Products cant be installed. The license does not prohibit installing other server products from 3rd party. This would be stupid because every server needs a backup-system and most of the systems are service-oriented.

Anyway, the server worked on the same system with the same OS for half a year without problems :(

Hi!

I found the problem thanks to the log.

I think it was here sleeping for a long time but was being masked by an other bug..
(the "fix SaveBestGhostsReplay() to behave as it should. (that is only saving the players replay when a login is given, and saving all the replays when no login is given)" bug.)

and it happens when calling SaveBestGhostsReplay() with a specific login, and no data is available.
