Manialink simple editor

Post by KLF » 02 Jun 2008 19:17

KLF - Manialink Editor

The creation of a nice looking manialinks for Trackmania is not easy, and since I could not find a good editor, I decided to make a simple one, just with a preview function.

While editing, with just one click you can visualize your manialink, there is no need to save the file to visualize it. :D

It's still a very simple text editor, but i hope it will speed up your manialink creation time.

You can download it from my site: http://www.klf.com.br

So you're saying this one and that one aren't any good? I never used either, so I have no opinion about them, just wondering. :)

Btw. the program seems to produce an error when there is already a webserver running on the local machine, then the preview won't work, too.
inactive, sorry

Fixed! I changed the port to 59734.
"Normal" people usually don't have a web server running on their machines :roflol:

IMHO, the second is far better, but both of them just offer the basics of manialinks. So, in the end you probably will want to "fine tune" your manialink in a text editor. And here is when my simple editor is very usefull.

The "main" feature is just act as a web server, and send the manialink to the game. So, while editing, with just one click you can visualize your manialink, there is no need to save the file to visualize it. :D

The editor was write for all those that don't have a web server running, or want/need a quick way to visualize their manialinks. :1

i'm trying to make a manialinkpage right now. it's my first. i'm using your "texteditor". only thing i see, i have to find out all the posible commands by myself. but the first editor (java) is using the old "line/cell" style. from my noobish opinion, the new frame/quad style is easier.

btw: do somebody have a very simple example/tut using all possible commands? i still do not fully understand when/why i should use a new frame or manialink. i could use a lot of quads just in one frame. but as i told ya, it's my first try. i still need to learn a lot.

thanks

to give you a late feedback.

i used your program to easy display the pages. for editing i used my standard texteditor cause is shows me the code with several colors.
there is one thing, i couldn't use tab quit good in your editor.
it can display the tab from texteditor, but not use it directly
from my side your prog would be perfect with the function of "notepad ++" inside the editor.

anyway i like it, at least for the easy way to display the page. ;)

Easy coding the program.
But only the localhost thingy server how can you code that?
I am learning vb a bit and can help u with coding.

Now you only need to add the video and all stuff like:

text1.text = text1.text & "<video sizen="00 00" posn="0 0 0" halign="center" valign="center" data="http://84.30.10.67/ManialinkSamples/signwarning.bik" play="1"/>"

Eww you use norton? o.O

Try cheking it with avast or MSSE ..both are least a little more trustworthy

Nice to see some active warning about virus's though ...albeit from norton"oh look ive screwed another file that's a false positive"antivirus

EDIT: Yup tested with Avast and MSSE ..no virus found

Very nice! Trying it atm, it's a little bit confusing at first placing the code with the alignments, but getting used to it :) NJ!
