yeah man, I need the password too - haven't even got HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tmtp in my registry by the way !!

-------------------------------------------------------------Edit-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got the tmtp protocol into my registry now, I done it with these 2 pieces of code I found :

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tmtp]
@="URL:tmtp protocol"
"URL Protocol"=""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tmtp\DefaultIcon]
@="c:\program files\TmNationsForever\TmForeverLauncher.exe"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tmtp\Shell]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tmtp\Shell\Open]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tmtp\Shell\Open\Command]
@="\"c:\program files\TmNationsForever\TmForever.exe\" /useexedir /singleinst /url=\"%1\""

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\tmtp]
@="URL:tmtp protocol"
"URL Protocol"=""

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\tmtp\DefaultIcon]
@="c:\program files\TmNationsForever\TmForeverLauncher.exe"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\tmtp\Shell]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\tmtp\Shell\Open]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\tmtp\Shell\Open\Command]
@="\"c:\program files\TmNationsForever\TmForever.exe\" /useexedir /singleinst /url=\"%1\""
These need to be saved with .reg file extension (call the actual files whatever you like, I called them TMTP1.reg and TMTP2.reg)

But I still can't join my game like this, it asks me to choose a program to launch it but with TmForeverLauncher.exe it runs with some windows saying:

Code: Select all

can't find language translation datas

Code: Select all

your video card performance has not been found. A quick bench will be run

Code: Select all

Could not retrieve your graphic device performance. Automatic graphic quality may be inadequate.
Then when the game launcher finally appears it says TmForever 0 en along the top of it instead of TrackMania Nations Forever 2.11.19 en and in the configure button in the language box it says <error>

Now if I try it with TmForever.exe it looks like its gonna start for about 1 second, then it just doesn't !!

Can anyone help with this ??

----------------------------------------------------------------EDIT------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't worry, I re-installed TM like seader said (Copied my original TmNationsForever folder from Program Files to a different location first then copied it back after the re-install cos I had other stuff in there that I didn't want to lose, so I recommend others to do that as well if you have other things in there) and all is good now  cheers Seader

Yeah well, a lot lot easier then editing around in the registry and it took about 2 minutes to do as well !! No extra programs or scripts needed, and this also restores the .gbx associations too

hey, fufi ;) thx for this little tool you wrote! it's working fine on a fresh installed windows ;) that's sparing a lot of activation "stress" (as it would be the 6th time i would have to activate tmu due to new install of windows, which would mean that i've to write another email to nadeo regarding unlocking another three times of registration possibilities...).

thx! :bigok:
