The problem does not come from the ASECO for sure, because we made test with and without Aseco (0.96, 1.2 and 2.0), and always the same crash.

We tried with a Debian and with an Ubuntu => Same

We tried with and without P2P => Same

We tried to change the port => Same

We tried with nothing else installed on the server (no PHP or Apache) => Same

We tried without RPC => Same

We really don’t know what to do… :(

yeah, it's strange really.. mine is again already running of 5 days without a crash and yesterday i began working with rpc commands to insert maps with it, change timelimit, maxplayer, other gamesetting... And I'm just gonna start aseco up tonight and see how long it runs.

I seem to ask these half intuitive questions but, could it have it's starting moods ? LIke it sometimes start like it's putting it's wrong leg out of the bed as we say here :P

It's just that I can't seem to bring it down this week ^^ and the last time it already crashed after 6 hours.

OK, yesterday evening (may 3 2008), the server ran 3 days. SOmetimes with 150 user peaks, without aseco. I decided to start aseco 2.1.0 and so this afternoon ( a day later)

Code: Select all

[05/04,13:56:42] << player 127 joined the game [sugio]
[05/04,13:56:57] << player 22 joined the game [xtof88]
[05/04,13:57:02] player 57 finished with 02:47.21 and took the 5. WR place!
[05/04,13:57:04] player 197 finished with 01:45.64 and took the 3. WR place!
[05/04,13:57:20] player 230 finished with 01:24.74 and took the 2. WR place!
[05/04,13:57:21] << player 133 joined the game [dj_ckie]
[05/04,13:57:22] << player 217 joined the game [misterml]
[05/04,13:57:24] player 53 finished with 01:13.80 and took the 1. WR place!
[05/04,13:57:34] >> player 38 left the game [wasseige]
[LocalDB] Transferring records to local database ... Done!

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 18874368 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 80 bytes) in /home/$
SO that was a couple of hours befor the server it self crashed (as it always goes with aseco / dedicated combination )

Hmm... so aseco crashes because there's too much memory used ( already raised it to 20 mb i thought)..

Should the server crash because of this?

i also had several crashes, very different style.
for some reason it's aseco, some it's for sure not.
i often got the error which mean, server didn't send correct or any data back to aseco.

i tried aseco 1.2b, 2.1., 2.1.1, xaseco 0.96, 0.97, Mistral.
got chrash with all of them. normally if crashed, it's always both, aseco and dedi. very less times it was just aseco.

i also tried several adjustments and plugins. always crashed, NO LOGIC.

using debian, php5.2.5, only one server 30-60 players.
also got memory error, but solved. use 24MB. now its just crashing most of the time with transfer errors.

don't know what to do, waiting for help/new more stable version.
i had 3 TMN servers running with aseco 0.96 without any of this problems.

I've had a few crashes of the 2008-04-18 dedicated on Linux (CentOS) too, with just a few players around, so it doesn't only happen on servers with dozens or more players.
No message in the Console or Game logs to hint at the reason, nor a core dump. :(

I guess what we need at this point is another server release (which fixes, for instance, the partially broken ForceSpectatorTarget method, the guest/blacklist wipes at startup, and other known issues), which is again accompanied by debuglogs executables like there were for builds 2008-04-15 thru 2008-04-16.

It would be really cool to have a new stable version of the dedicated, cause as many of us tried dozen of things and still have crashes, it seems that we have to look for a solution in this direction.

Thx to Nadeo if you can help us ;)

I found (and fixed) a bug! :3
I have three servers that have been running for a few days with no crashes! (with ~200 players peak, but no xmlrpc plugins)

I'll try to make a new release asap.

Yay! Will that release include fixes for other known problems (see my PMs of last month) too?

I´m pretty sure that the Problem is the xmlrpc, so thats why he said he has 3 servers running fine without it. So i guess the bug-fixing will be in the xmlrpc part.

I cant imagine that they will do a dedicated without the interface.
