Amateur skinner
Hi im new to the forums and im an amateur skinner who would

Re: Amateur skinner
<sigh>..and that would be a VEHICLE!budd wrote:do something new like a submarine :p
That would be impossible, because there is no such a thing as a "2D model"!budd wrote:or do you only pimp 2d models?
There are flat, painted, 2D skins, and there are shaped 3D models....they are not remotely the same thing, please don't mix them up.
It's bad enough when all the children in the world call tracks, maps, already. It only gets worse when people mix up 3D models, with 2D skins! Along that road madness awaits. What's next? 5D models? 4D lunatics? 3D skins? 1.5 cell brains?

...creates something like this.

Re: Amateur skinner
hah, man you made an entire story from a word that i just said, well let me tell you that the word 'model' in my sentence was not used to describe a 3d object
when i said model, i was thinking of something that represents the final outcome and when you create a picture that will be used to dress up a 3d object you can call that picture a model.
now lets get to the main thing:
I challenge you to create a 3D model of a submarine in the theme of Kursk, you can accept this challenge or decline it.

Re: Amateur skinner

Re: Amateur skinner
But there is a whole world of difference in just a single word, Budd. Night/Day, Salt/Pepper. 2D/3D, learned knowledge/adbject stupidty (I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, with the latter!).budd wrote:hah, man you made an entire story from a word that i just said

However, that's an interesting ploy you got there Tovarich. I've not seen that for many a decade and it was playing for Marbles back then.
Get your terminology wrong, setting the bait as it were, then throw out a dare once the hook is bitten....but a long sausage shape isn't basically difficult to create. What's next, a Rubik's cube?

Apart from a Spitfire, I can't imagine a more simple shape to create, and anyone trying their hand at 3D would do well to start on simple shapes like Submarines, rather than mind bogglingly complex supercars.
Now, I task you with posting your 3D submarine request to the correct vehicle's thread! Go on, I dare ye!
