a problem when starting onyx

Onyx with its NyxServer is a plugin container written in java. Nyx plugins are simple javascript text files and can be added and removed on the fly. Some plugins: TMX, Dedimania, NextMapInfo, CopperDonation and many more.

a problem when starting onyx

i really like onyx is quiete easy to understand but i always when i type ./startOnyxDaemon i get this error:

[root@cluster bin]# Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassFormatError: com.onyx.main.Onyx (unrecognized class file version)

at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(libgcj.so.7rh)
at gnu.java.lang.MainThread.run(libgcj.so.7rh)

PD:i use PUTTY to acces the server from remote.

unrecognized class file version
I m pretty sure it means u are not running with the older version of the java runtime.

Type java -version
It should be at least 1.6
