PHP v5.2.3 should be fine, I use v5.2.6. But maybe that Suhosin patch doesn't allow the & reference inside a foreach loop? Otherwise I don't know what it could be.

I have xaseco 1.06 and there is a problem with banning people with integers in nickname (log):

Code: Select all

That would be somewhat funny if that cheater weren't so pathetic. It's a known repeat offender who was already banned from Dedimania (so those #1 WR records weren't actually stored) and every server should blacklist that login.

Anyway, the integer confusion comes from the player ID feature where you can address players by number instead of login, and that indeed gets mixed up when the login is an integer. Sigh. I added a fix to the next release, will be out once the next dedicated is released.

Yes, I know that he is a cheater, I just added all logins form "Cheaters" thread to blacklist.txt. Thank you.

Maybe its a good idea to create global cheaters database and some plugin to update blacklist.txt?

That allready exists, in different versions.
The problem with central blacklists is that there needs to be a waterproof system to check the supposed cheaters, witch isn't really doable.....

Which ones? I know of only one, but I couldn't confirm even half of those entries via the Dedimania database, and I'm not using it myself.

Yeah, I'm not going to blacklist a login just because some other admin claims it's a cheater without providing evidence, as that opens the door to "practical jokes" and such.

The other problem is creating a good mechanism of merging a trusted central blacklist with your own list of logins that you blacklisted for your own reasons. I'm not sure how <blacklist_url> in dedicated_cfg.txt works either. I intend to investigate this more, but have to clear a couple of other things off my plate first.

For the time being, here is my own blacklist mostly based on confirmed Dedimania record cheaters.

Example: http://intense.tmfserver.com/forum/view ... f=43&t=277

With the first wave of cheaters, last year, i tried to set up a waterproof system, where people had to post evidence on a forum that would be severely checked by a trusted group of "tm vips".
But soon became evident that there is no 100% proof, as logfiles can be edited, screenshots can be photoshopped and whitnesses can be "bought"....
So the development has stopped in an early stage.

I don't see how that plugin is related to this topic. Also, brilliant idea to put black text on a dark grey background. :P

I suppose so, though some cheats are pretty clear from my analysis of Dedimania records. And even then I only ban logins that repeatedly surface in my scans, as one or a few anomalies is pretty thin evidence to ban someone on.

This is in the plugin:

Code: Select all

/**
If you suspect someone from hacking, post his login and/or ip on intense.racing.free.fr/forum WITH proof. We'll add them to the banlist asap. If someone doesn't agree, contact us in the forums and we'll review the case.
*/

/** Function turned off for the moment

function checkhack($aseco, $player) {
   $nothacker = array("PLAYER_LOGIN","PLAYER_LOGIN2");
   $parsed = $aseco->xml_parser->parseXml('https://88.174.134.62/banlist/banlist.xml');
   $ip = explode(':',$player->ip);
   if(!in_array($player->login,$nothacker)) {
      if(in_array($player->login,$parsed['PLAYER']['LOGIN']) || in_array($ip[0],$parsed['PLAYER']['IP'])) {
         $kickit = true;
      }
   }
   if($kickit) {
      $message = "$f00".$player->nickname." $fffis kicked because he's in global banlist, if you're not a hacker, contact the serveradmin";
      $aseco->client->query('ChatSendServerMessageToLogin', $aseco->formatColors($message), $player->login);
      $aseco->client->query('Kick', $player->login);
   }
}
*/

And a developer like you should really invest in a nice screen, with some contrast so that black on light grey becomes readable. :wink:
Did you know that your screen uses 80% less energy when using dark colours?

Blasphemy. That's only true with CRT monitors. LCDs actually use more energy to display a black screen because they have to block light from the backlight.

Nonsense, lack of contrast is an elementary design mistake, and that page is hard to read on both my CRT and LCD monitors.
Also, did you consider that colorblind people, or people that otherwise have some problem distinguishing nearby colors, might be reading a site? Fortunately I don't suffer from that myself, but I do try to take accessibility into account.

Thanks for the plugin explanation though.
