TMS, TMO Bench: "graphic card supports 0 fps" HD2600 Pro AGP

Post by leand2o » 25 Mar 2009 23:50

Hi there i need some help please,

I have Trackmania Sunrise Extreme and Trackmania Original games and i have problem running both. When i click "play" simply shuts down the game.

So, i search some about this on google for more additional information and i got those tries:

1st. the "TMN HD2900XT FiX.zip" adding d3d9.dll to the main path.

2nd. installed the "sfdrvup.exe" FrontLine Drivers Update

But it still doesn't run, unfortunately :(

I have the recent driver 9.2 Catalyst Hot fix from ATI for HD 2600 Pro AGP at it appears ok on device manager.
My OS is Windows Xp Home edition with SP2 (portuguese)

Thks for any help, any advice are welcome too [ ]

Sorry about some mistakes.

nope. all hardware and systems are set to the defaults and installed with genuine drivers and without any type of overclocking. sound card is on board so drivers becomes with a mainboard cd. sound codecs i have installed "Xp Codec Pack". this computer runs Crysis perfectly with systems setting to high performance so why not trackmania? I think the problem is on graphic card because when i start the bench appears a info box saying "graphic card supports 0 fps".

more info about this pc:
Mobo: DFI PS83-BL (genuine bios version)
CPU: Pentium 4 2.8GHz
HDD: Samsung 120Gb, 60Gb (c:) with windows vista and 60Gb (d:) with windows xp sp2
Mem: 2 x Kingston 512Mb (total 1GB)
OS:Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 (Portuguese Pt-pt)
Graphic card: ATI HD2600 Pro AGP 512 Mb

"Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0" installed.
"Windows installer 3.1 (KB893803)" installed.
"ATI Catalyst 9.2 AGP hotfix for Xp from Ati.com" (last driver for HD2600 Pro AGP card) installed.
"XP Codec Pack" installed.
"Directx 9.0c" installed.

Graphic card supports pixel shader 3.0 and directx 10 on vista.

Games versions:
TrackMania Original 1.5.4
TrackMania Sunrise Extreme 1.5.3

you should have a crash log in your documents folder in trackmania folder copy the message there, and google.

i did, and personally i officially give, it's not that i found no solution, it's too MANY solutions, from replacing directx/eaopen dll, removing starfroce, stopping proceses, uninstall-reinstall, changing memory designation from cache to programs, ram timings, audio conifgs. to me, this says tm, is simply way to volitile to remain stable. if i do manange to get it to work, it could go off again for any reason.

sure emaayan, but there's no crash log in "trackmania" folder. trackmania folder doesn't exist in "my documents" folder. I think it's because when i press "play" button it just close the game and that makes impossible to write the crash log file. I keep search in the internet but nothing cames. I saw that a lot of people have the same problem with the same graphic card but no ones found any solution. buf...

thks emaayan :)

how strange, you should have it somewhere it also contains a folder for config which contains 2 gbx's, do a search for LogCrash_*.txt in your entire system.

on my laptop Acer aspire 5520 I can find one crash file in the game folder in "e:\program files\trackmania sunrise\LogCrash_004C06FB.txt" so manually I kickup searching for similar file on my pc in the same folder but there's nothing. TMO and TMS never started since the first time i have installed.

Have you tried unchecking the fullscreen checkbox in the configuration screen? I have an HD2400 and I couldn't get the game to work until I did that.

no Blitzen. doens't work too. I have tried all possible combinations checking and unchecking in the configuration screen (audio, fullscreen, resolution, game quality, safe mode, fast load). I'm disappointed and really close to give up. :( fortunately i have my laptop with those games working perfectly. :D

thks Blitzen :)

Blitzen what's your OS and service pack you are using, and what version you have from Catalyst? you have tried with TMO or TMS? your graphic card is an AGP? Hope, this will be usefull to me.

Vista 32bit sp1

ATI Radeon HD2400

I have the latest version of Catalyst. Was having a huge amount of trouble with the Catalyst - to the point where I was going to ditch the card - but something happened recently (no idea what, that's the scary part) and it's working like gangbusters since.

:roflol: that's what ATI Radeon HD2xxx series are for, a lots of trouble. lol If you see similar card without any driver trouble than you must think twice cause that's not a HD2xxx series for sure. lol I should speak to The Gods pleasing for trackmania :p
now seriously, i think that ATI team are more concerned to build more graphic cards to stay front of nvidia as far as they never focus to the compatibilities - our problems. You see how fast they build hotfix's for our cards...
