Re: Problems downloading files

Is Google broken? http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=trackmania+nations+forever+download&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a ...nope!. Hundreds of sites to download from. If one is broken, try another, to at least confirm (or not) that you can actually download the f...

Re: wheels painting

I'm very sorry to bring this thread back up, but why, when I edit wheels, do my tires get shiny? instead of matt? Because you are only editing the 16 million colour image in the DDS file. The shinyness (specularity) of all the various parts is set by the 256 colour Black and white 8 bit alpha chann...

Re: Requesting a Lamborghini LM001

The LM001 was Lamborghini's only offroader if I recall correctly. Not quite. Anyone old enough to have been building Tamiya 1/12 scale RC cars from the 1970/80''s might remember the "FMC XR311" and then the "Lamborghini Cheetah" a couple of years later. Both of the full sized cars were built in var...

Re: Question on uploading vehicles to carpark

...where do I find the one I painted on my computer? (as you didn't bother searching the forum) : http://www.tm-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=18594#p135542 The Winblows Exploder folder that pops open is where all vehicles (and their environments for players who don't just have TM Nations Forever) ...

Re: TGA wont save multi-layer files

guess thats a noo?? Nope. TGA's by default are not multi-layered. However, stickers and Stencils used by TM have an alpha channel (I've detailed this all fully elsewhere...many times : Forum search is your friend)) image too. It is the alpha channel which gives the sticker and stencil it's transpar...

Re: Making an icon.dds file?

How does one make an icon.dds file? Copy a icon.dds from any other car zip, now place it in yours (it'll show the wrong car of course), so you should enter the TM Painter and press "save". The icon.dds is updated with the new car. Sorted Warning Saving in the TM painter may mean you lower the resol...

Re: 2D Painting with an external application?

No, no, and no....and yes, why wouldn't it? :?: A "thing call a pre-light" eh? Wow, never, whatever next? A "pre-light" is just an image that represents and simulates how a shadow would be cast on a virtual 3D shape from an overhead light source. In the real world you could apply a darkened s...

Re: 2D Painting with an external application?

how do I prevent what I paint being "flat-shaded", just one single shade without shadows or anything? You're not joking are you? You simply paint the alpha channel, or for an even speedier result turn the colour saturation down of the coloured image so it's black and white. Alter the var...

Re: Post Skin requests here

Ah I see now....the mists of incomprehension part. A "skin" is a 2D paintjob only, but as you've now clarified you're after a new creation of a standard Mk1 Escort body shape (but without the RS bubble arches of the old TM Sunrise : Southmoon car) you've posted your request to the wrong thread. No h...

Re: Post Skin requests here

ps would like it street version with just the 2 flare arches at front not the 4 big bubble arches ty hope someone can help my little deam :) Painting a 2D skin does not alter that 3D vehicle's SHAPE. In the same way painting RS Mexico stripes onto the real car did not change the shape of that vehic...

Re: [TMNF] Color rendering issue, since TM-ESWC

Ok first off. Thinking logically, as you've had this problem over various graphics cards, and driver sets, and have had the issue on all the TM game versions....the possibility those are to blame is next to impossible. What is the same is : you, and your own options, preferences, and personal choice...
