Re: SUGGESTIONS OF TMX IMPROVEMENTS

As anything other than a heartfelt "thank you for your hard effort", I would think coppers-donations are entirely uninteresting ;) The main point of donations is to help cover some of the costs of hosting, and as far as coppers are concerned, most hosting providers would probably be more inclined to...

Re: IMPORTANT: Trackmania eXchange Downtime

Sadly, there's never a shortage of knee-jerk doodz who think they're entitled to 24/7 enterprise-level support for a service to which they've contributed exactly zip, financially or otherwise. And no. Merely posting your own tracks and doling out friend-awards doesn't count as contributing in this p...

Haven't had your specific problem, but I've done something similar. Some time back I wanted to give away my original copy of HL2 because I found and bought HL2 Collector's Edition.. This of course meant unbinding the CD-key of the old HL2-copy from my steam account so someone else would be able to u...

@Refracer You can't compare a bug that is 100% reproducable, to something that happens randomly. Once the first type is known, you can always avoid it. The randomly occuring type is _far_ worse when it affects gameplay. Some of of his points are perfectly valid. You CANT simply avoid the curbs, not ...

Considering how many 'amateur' players complain here, I seriously doubt you can speak for the majority. I'm hardly a pro racer, but I can still accept if I choose to ride a kerb and it goes wrong, that its my own fault and not the games. I'm barely even at amateur-level, but I couldn't agree with y...

I have the same problem occasionally too, but very rarely. I also think there's a relation with cpu cycles since it usually happens if I already have the feeling it's time for a reboot rather sooni'ish. Also, I actually can't remember ever experiencing this with my old gamepad (a Thrustmaster firest...

the win draw loss screen doesnt tell too much. playing on noob servers, you can have very few losses. I completely agree. Always playing on the same server also helps, as TrackMania is all about knowing the maps.. In addition, most good players on pubservers usually don't give a flying *bleep* abou...

In response to tma's post. What about the TMS ladder concept? i.e. if a low rank loses to a high rank they lose points? instead of gaining '0' points and being none the worse off? I don't know how that system works but would that make boosting completely impossible? I've never played TMS, but I thi...

And you blatantly ignore the fact that you have absolutely no concept of how games or applications in general are made. Changes like this can require pretty deep delving into the source code - how deep is impossible to know without actually knowing it, but the house-analogy generally works well.. Ie...

Valve made steam, and they made Half life, so maybe that's why that worked back then? Also, there was some legal fight with Sierra about the distribution thingie I seriously doubt there are any real technical reasons for not allowing people to convert from metaboli to steam. Could be there are some...

Sounds 100% reliable to me; professional-looking online store and all.

I don't suppose the warehouse you're referring to is really a black van, and the personnel are all wearing black balaclava-hoods?

There always has, and always will be cheating in games. The Trackmania series seems to have been left out of it for a long time because it's always been something of a niche game. But look to some of Blizzard's games, or the Quake series, or Counter-Strike.. Pretty much ANY big title you've ever hea...

It would certainly be possible, It wouldn't be as simple as generating some random elevations, lakes, resource nodes and such on an RTS-map, but nothing is impossible. However, like Zooz said, those tracks would probably be fairly boring and, well, random ;) I don't really see a need for this featur...

The thing is, most people out there have far longer nicks and clan-tag combos than me, and they don't seem to have this problem. Additionally, my nick, sans clan-tag, is a whopping three chars long already. Thank you for the suggestion, though. It gave me a rather simple idea to drop just one $i .. ...
